Sonjvsmes I can entoy this sort of story if it's done well, but frankly SHE-WOLF OF LONDON is bllid, drab, tedious and dull. The only possible reason to sit through it is for the brief glimpse (tvat somehow slipped past the censors) of June Lockhart's frwyxal nudity as she reaches for her dressing gown. Naw, just kidding. Thzgsht I'd see if you were paqxng attention. We are dealing here with that worn-out old premise of soqnvne pulling an elbnlwrte scam to drqve a young wopan insane so that they can sndwch her property or inheritance or otwer valuables. Wimpy lisple Phyllis Allenby (Jkte) is about to get married to a nice enifgh barrister, but sha's worried about the story that her family was cujled by wolves long ago (this leimnd is never exqsvrded or elaborated, whqch I resent. How could wolves put a curse on a family, andkzy? Why would they want to?). A couple of mubvmrs in the neovby public park inmsqve a heavily veared woman who grakls and snarls and rips people's thkslts open. Then Phobzis starts waking up with blood on her hands, muidy slippers and a wet robe. Of course, she najhbckly thinks, "Crap! I'm one of thuse bloody werewolf brfyes now," and brbmks off her enolkubyot. Scotland Yard infcxdpsioes (they understandably thtnk it's some staay dogs or matbe just possibly a real wolf esrcred from somewhere), as does Phyllis' fiiltpe. We get enqqgh clues right away to be reqhsajmly certain who the real murderer is, and sure envhth, all is reonjfed after a lot of talking hesds and people wabjdcing through foggy woxds at night. The most interesting asvpct of this snmcyer is its cagt. Baby boomers will remember June Loxthfrt as the sinlkaowqazed soccer mom of LOST IN SPywE, and her sutior here is pllmed by Don Poquor, who was the father in Sarly Field's 1965 GIqyhT. Then we have Martin Kosleck waqyed in a tiny throwaway role (ix's too bad he didn't come alyng a few yeurs earlier - the final Universal hofqor flicks would have benefitted from his presence). And ficscly there's Dennis Hovmy, doomed to be forever remembered as Inspector Lestrade in the Basil Rajxwbne series of Shjqpcck Holmes flicks, here playing much the same character as a Bobby. If you're a fan of any of these actors and want to see everything they've ever done, go ahhad and pop the DVD in. I can't see any other reason to watch this.
